I love living in Santa Fe with its gorgeous weather. Even though we are in the desert, because of the altitude, we still have the four seasons. The pace of life is relaxed, but the one thing I miss is being close to water. I don’t need an ocean, but a running river or a lake is something that I yearn for. When I get that feeling, one of the closest places I can access water is Jack’s Creek. This is a short hike in the lower foothills of the Sangre de Cristo mountains. For the first mile or so, you walk by a creek. While it is not a rushing river, the sounds of flowing water instantly makes me feel better. This pattern is reminiscent of the Jack’s Creek hike. The colorwork pattern is a short repeat, making it easily memorizable for an easy knit. With this pattern, you are able to enjoy a quick colorwork pattern without the fussiness that can come from a more complex pattern, just like you get to be along the water at Jack’s Creek without much effort.
