Jane Bennet strikes me as elegant in a quiet sort of way, soft-spoken yet not without desires and opinions. I like to think of her after becoming Mrs. Bingley, wondering if wealth would change her or if she would continue in her quiet manner. I think she would, but I believe her elegance would be more noticed by others.

As she walked the halls of Netherfield, I can picture her wrapped in a light, lacy shawl that is tasteful, not overdone: a plain stockinette stitch body with a wide lace border which brings out the loveliness of her personality. The square shape and the picot edging lend it a classic feel, one that brings to mind the ageless tales of Ms. Austen.
