Every now and then people ask me to design something for them. Since I cannot keep every made piece myself I am usually happy to do so.

One day one of my colleagues came to me and said: “ Lin, you always make those beautiful scarves and wraps, would you mind making one for me?”

My colleague loves shiny and glittery stuff and she really wanted a silver wrap. Silver glitter lace yarn is really hard to find here in the Netherlands but Lana Grossa has a silver yarn that is really silver, add a sparkle by knitting along some glitter lurex and voila.

The end result however is not as she had pictured it, despite my warnings that the result she wanted was impossible to achieve. But since I never force someone to buy the piece if it is not as he/she wanted, I ended up with a beautiful wrap that I could not wear myself because grey/silver is not my color and makes me look as if I am sick.

At that time I had just passed my driving test, and my driving instructor (Jan) still needed a gift for his wife. I had been taking lessons for 1,5 years and I was over the moon that I had finally passed the exam so I offered him this wrap.

He immediatly fell in love with it and was soooo happy to finally have a nice gift. A couple of weeks later I got a phonecall from his wife, she just loved it.
