Joia is an asymmetrical triangular shawl that grows from one tip to the opposite edge. Fashioned in easy-to-memorize smocking stitch, it works up quickly to make a beautiful accessory with texture that pops.

Joia looks beautiful in solids, semi-solids, or gradient colorways!

Sample Size: 49” / 124.5 cm long and 19” / 48 cm at its widest point
The size of the shawl can be adjusted by working more or fewer repeats of the pattern to use up all the available yarn.

Yarn: 420-450 yards of fingering or sport weight yarn

Needles: US size 5 / 3.75 mm 28” / 70 cm circular needles or size needed to create a good, drapey fabric

Exact gauge is not necessary but will affect the size of the finished shawl and the amount of yarn required to finish the project.

During the month of September 2017, I donated 100% of sales for the Joia Shawl to the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund and Unicef. The total donation was $201. Thank you to everyone who purchased the pattern during that month!
