Journey features a 4-color fair isle pattern and is quick and easy to knit. It’s a perfect hat for beginners and a great way to get rid of some of your leftovers. Works pretty well as a gift or a small in-between project. The instructions available are for either a beanie or a slouchy version.

SIZES:

Circumference at the brim:
XS – 42 cm/16 ½ in
S – 46 cm/18 in
M – 50 cm/19 ¾ in
L – 54 cm/21 ¼ in

Length:
Beanie (Sample 1/pink) – 21 cm/8 ¼ in for all sizes
Slouchy (Sample 2/blue) – 26 cm/10 ¼ in for all sizes

Samples are shown in size S on a 53.5 cm/21 in circumference head.

NEEDLES:

4 mm/US 6 circular needle (40 cm/16 in) or dpn´s for brim
4.5 mm/US 7 circular needle (40 cm/16 in) or dpn´s for body
4.5 mm/US 7 long circular needle to knit the crown with the magic loop method or dpn´s.

GAUGE:

20 sts and 28 rows = 10 cm/4 in on smaller needle in ribbing pattern worked in the round (blocked and unstreched).

19 sts and 26 rows = 10 cm/4 in on larger needle in
Stockinette worked in the round (blocked).

YARN:

De Rerum Natura Gilliatt
(100% Merino; 250 m (273 yds)/100 g) or any other worsted weight yarn that gives you the correct gauge.
