Joyful threads cardi
The “joyful threads” cardi is a perfect stash yarn project, where you can customize colors and yarns you already have. The cardigan is knitted with two strands, but if you have yarn that matches the gauge with a single strand, you can use that too. The cardigan has a loose and roomy fit and is intended to be slightly short. The garment is worked top-down, allowing you to adjust the length of the body and sleeves as desired.
The cardigan is worked top-down, allowing you to adjust the length of the sleeves and body. The design is wide and short, but you can modify the length to your preference. The back piece is knitted first, with increases towards the sleeves. The front pieces are worked separately, back and forth, with increases at the neckline. Then, stitches are increased towards the sleeves (as on the back piece). When the front pieces match the length of the back piece, new stitches are cast on for the sleeve openings, and the body is worked in garter stitch, back and forth, while buttonholes are worked on the right front piece. The sleeves are knitted top-down by picking up stitches at the sleeve openings.
