This is a fundraising pattern for my late brother, Mino (1971-2004).

The pattern is updated on Dec 2013 (Ver.3.3).

“Just Knit” Hat for Mino is a simple stockinette hat with a round top. This is for someone who likes the top to be tight, not slouchy. The pattern offers three sizes, plus a “covers the ears” version, and an option for stripes. Please find a skein of yarn that knits up beautifully in stockinette stitch. You will find yourself wearing this hat much more than any other fancy hat!

Skill required: Cast-On, K, P, K2tog, Bind off

Finished size:
Large (Men) - 8”x 16” circumference (20cm x 40cm)
Medium (Women/Teens) - 7.5” x 15” (19cm x 38cm)
Small (Kids) - 7” x 14” (17cm x 35cm)

All the proceeds of this pattern will be donated to Minoru Hokari Memorial Scholarship Fund at the Australian National University. My late brother, Minoru Hokari (“Mino” 1971-2004) died of cancer at the age of 32. The scholarship fund supports young scholars who study Indigenous Australians through fieldwork. We are trying to fully fund it to achieve its perpetuity. Please help.

Please visit Being Connected with HOKARI MINORU (www.hokariminoru.org) to meet Mino.
