When I saw the Old Town colorway, I knew it needed to be prominent in this project. So, I decided to use it as a background to small slipped stitches so that the different shades of the colorway show through. Slipped stitches look beautiful in colorwork, if I do say so myself. This yarn blooms beautifully when soaked and feels wonderful when worn.
Instructions are included for a beret and a beanie version of this hat (shown as a beret in this picture).

Yarn: Neighborhood Fiber Co Cobblestone Sock (fingering weight), 400 yds., 114g, 75% Bluefaced Leicester, 15% Cashmere goat, 10% Silk, colorways: Old Town (Red-Orange) (Main Color, 1 skein) and Federal Hill (Gray) (Contrast Color, 1 skein).
Needles: US 1 (2.25mm) double-pointed needles and 16” circular
