you will be needing some wire-gauge from the hardware store and scraps of yarn (you can choose to make stripes, this is a good stashbuster project).

there is no gauge required for the knitted fabric, the knitting is loose to allow for elasticity and laciness for the christmas tree lights to peek through, however a needle size is specified.

This ball lets the little Christmas tree lights shine through, and are ecolology friendly because no artificial stuffing was used.

it all started with a bunch of people wanting to raise money for beach protection by knitting baybles and -hear that- filling them with styrofoam balls among all things!

styrofoam lands on the beaches when discarded off, it never decays and it causes damage to the maritime species and is uggly garbage floating on water.

that started my brain working for an alternative where the componants could all disentegrate or be melted again (the metal).
