This is the sixth square in the pattern for a Knitted Patchwork Quilt. It is important to have the correct gauge so that each of your squares are very close to the same size. You can correct for slight variances in size when you block each piece after knitting.
This Fan Lace stitch pattern consists of eyelets and loose stitches. You will be making increases and decreases to set up some holes in the fabric. Then you will be pulling up long loops from these holes to create a lovely “fan” stitch.
Each subsequent square in this patchwork quilt will introduce another stitch, each progressing gently in skill and stitch work. This sixth square builds on the loose loops for the Daisy Stitch learned in Square #4 and the lacework stitches learned in Square #5. It continues the important practice of looking carefully at your work so you can see what you have done and know what comes next in your pattern. Be sure to check out Square #7, your next square in the sequence.
