this is a super stretchy hat filled with cables, plaits and ribbing. knits up quickly on bulky yarn.

2 hat options are give in the pattern : one for bulky yarn (soft and squishy hat) and one for worsted weight yarn held double (makes a firmer hat)

gauge for bulky yarn on us9 : 6sts x 6 rounds = 1in (black version)
gauge for worsted held double on us10 : 4sts x 5 rounds = 1in (tweed version)

gauge knit using 12sts plait (unblocked)

finished measurements
18in x 8in (unblocked)
will fit head circumference of 20-22in

little note this hat has a lot of stretch. the bulky hat will easily fit over a pony tail or bun. the worsted held double version still has lots of stretch but fits much tighter.
