Inspiration for this shawl came from filet crochet, where one can create an image using eyelets and fabric. Katya played with the idea of creating negative and positive images of a diamond pattern: one a fabric pattern on an eyelet background and another an eyelet pattern on a fabric background.

Finished measurements
Approximately 21”/53.5 cm wide and 70”/178 cm long after blocking.

Yarn
1225 yds/1120 m of laceweight yarn.
Yarn shown is JaggerSpun Zephyr Wool-silk 2/18 (50% merino wool, 50% silk, 630 yds/576 m in 2 oz/57 g): #76 Mahogany.

Needles
Size 4 (3.5 mm): straight.

Notions
Tapestry needle, spare length of waste yarn, stitch holder.

Gauge
• 24 sts and 30 rows in 4”/10 cm in Center Lace stitch;
Gauge is not critical for the shawl. Keep in mind that if gauge is different, amount of yarn required and finished measurements of the shawl will be different.
