unikatissima’s Lace Knitter’s Advent calendar 2018

2018 I offer you an Advent calendar shawl which shows 7 lace patterns looking similar to their counterpart, i.e. the first pattern matches wonderfully the last pattern, the second pattern the last but one, the third the fifth and you can repeat the middle pattern as often as you like to make your very personal Advent calendar shawl as long as you like.
Again I wish you a relaxed and relaxing Advent knit! :)

The pattern has a repeat of 20 stitches which allows you to decide on the width of your shawl to your liking.
The pattern of day 13 can be repeated as often as you like to make the shawl as long as you wish.

About the pattern:

This year the shawl has
* 7 different consecutive lace patterns which mirror each other harmoniously,
* a 20 stitches repeat which allows you to knit the shawl as wide as you like and
* on day 13 a pattern that you can knit as often as you like to adapt the length of the shawl to your liking.

The pattern
* is a multiple of 20 pattern stitches + 3 start/end stitches + 2 or more edge stitches, and
* has a total of 386 rows with the day 13 pattern knitted once.
* The day 13 pattern has 28 rows and can be knitted several times if necessary.
* The daily instructions contain each as well charts as written instructions.

To knit the shawl you need
* yarn with needles in appropriate size (the shawl looks as beautiful knitted in lace yarn as in fingering or bulkier yarn),
* know-how about knitting yarn overs and different decreases and
* if you like stitch markers to mark the repeats.

If you want to make the shawl
* broader/narrower simply adjust the number of repeats;
* shorter,
  – use smaller needle sizes and/or
  – finer yarn and/or
  – knit less loose;
* longer
  – knit the day 13 pattern more than once and/or
  – use larger needles and/or
  – bulkier yarn and/or
  – knit more loose.

About the finished item:

Please bear in mind: the size always depends on your gauge and also on the way you knit – I’m always knitting rather loosely.

This year I knitted only one shawl.

For my shawl I made/used
* 3 repeats
* with 6 rows in seed stitch at the beginning and end, and
* with 3 stitches in seed stitch at each side, and
* without extra repeats of the day 13 pattern
* with about 142 g or 498 yards/455 m cheeky merino joy from Rosy Green Wool in red (col 058, 100 g have about 350 yards/320 m)
* with US 7/4.5 mm needles to
* a total of 29.110 stitches ;-) and
* got a shawl of about 12″ x 65″ (this are about 30 x 165 cm).

I knitted the daily pattern parts in about 30 min.

unikatissimas Lochstrickmuster-Adventskalender 2018

2018 biete ich Dir ein Adventskalender-Tuch, das 7 Lace­muster zeigt, die jeweils eine ähnliche Anmutung haben wie ihr Gegen­stück, d.h. das 1. Muster passt wunder­bar zum letzten, das 2. Muster zum vor­letzten, das 3. zum 5. und das Mittel­muster kannst Du wieder­holen, so oft Du möchtest, um Dein ganz persönliches Advents-Schal­tuch so lang zu machen, wie es Dir gefällt :)

Das Muster hat einen Mustersatz von 20 Maschen, mit dem Du die Breite Deines Tuches nach Deinem Geschmack bestimmen kannst.
Das Muster von Tag 13 kann so oft wiederholt werden wie Du magst, um das Tuch auf die gewünschte Länge zu bringen.

Über das Muster:

Dieses Jahr hat das Tuch
* 7 verschiedene auf­einander­folgende Lace­muster, die einander harmonisch spiegeln,
* einen 20-Maschen-Muster­satz, der es Dir erlaubt, das Tuch so breit, wie Du willst zu stricken und
* an Tag 13 ein Muster, das Du beliebig oft stricken kannst, um die Länge des Tuches Deinem Geschmack anzupassen.

Das Muster
* ist ein Vielfaches von 20 MusterM + 3 Beginn-/EndeM + 2 oder mehr RandM (M = Maschen) und
* hat eine Gesamtlänge von 386 Reihen, wenn Tag 13 einmal gestrickt wird.
* Das Tag 13-Muster hat 28 Reihen und kann ggf. mehrfach gestrickt werden.
* Die täglichen Anleitungen enthalten jeweils sowohl Strickschrift (Diagramm) als auch Text­anleitungen.

Du brauchst zum Stricken des Schal­tuches
* Garn mit Nadeln in der dazu­passenden Größe (das Schaltuch sieht mit Lace­garn gestrickt genauso schön aus wie mit Socken- oder noch dickerem Garn),
* Kenntnisse über das Stricken von Umschlägen und verschiedenen Abnahmen und
* eventuell Maschen­markierer, um die Muster­sätze voneinander abzugrenzen.

Wenn Du das Schal­tuch
* breiter/schmaler machen möchtest, ändere einfach die Anzahl der Muster­sätze;
* kürzer machen möchtest,
  – verwende eine kleinere Nadel­stärke und/oder
  – feineres Garn und/oder
  – stricke fester;
* länger machen möchtest,
  – stricke das Tag 13-Muster mehrfach und/oder
  – verwende eine größere Nadel­stärke und/oder
  – dickeres Garn und/oder
  – stricke lockerer.

Über das fertige Stück:

Bitte vergiss‘ nicht: die Größe hängt immer von Deiner Maschen­probe und Deiner Art zu stricken ab – ich stricke immer recht lose.

Dieses Jahr habe ich nur ein Schal­tuch gestrickt.

Bei meinem Schaltuch habe ich
* 3 Mustersätze und
* 6 Reihen im kleinen Perl­muster am Anfang und Ende des Schal­tuches und
* 3 Maschen im kleinen Perl­muster jeweils am Reihen­anfang und -ende und
* ohne Extra-Wieder­holungen des Tag 13-Musters
* mit ungefähr 142 g oder 455 m cheeky merino joy von Rosy Green Wool in rot (Fb 058, 100 g entsprechen ca. 320 m)
* mit 4,5 mm/US 7 Nadeln zu
* insgesamt 29110 Maschen verstrickt ;-) und
* bekam ein Schal­tuch von ungefähr 30 x 165 cm (das sind ungefähr 12″ x 65″).

Die täglichen Muster­abschnitte habe ich jeweils in rund 30 Min gestrickt.
