Introducing Land of the Fairies Shawl. A Tunisian crochet project. The beautiful rich colors of this shawl make me think of Ireland. The whimsical nature makes me think of the fairies that originate there.

This is a “variety pack” Tunisian crochet sampler shawl. You will get a chance to use all the major Tunisian crochet stitches as well as learn some really cool stitch combinations that will result in a spectacular and intricate looking garment.

The pattern includes both written instructions and pattern charts for the lace sections.

As of today, I am offering this pattern free here on Ravelry.

In the future this will be a paid pattern.

This shawl can be made with any yarn and hook that you choose, but I have given yarn recommendations and gauge if you would like to achieve this exact look. Color changing yarns will give a rich depth, however this project would be fabulous with stripes or even a solid color since there is such a diversity of stitches.

This gorgeous shawl is worked in Jarbo - Cookie in “Limelight” 46214 available through Hobbii.com. It has a beautiful rich tweedy look and soft feel. You would swear it is soft wool, but it’s 100% acrylic (translation: affordable!) and super easy to work with. And the colors are beyond rich and complex.

A lacing cord allows you to create several styling options. See photos for ideas. The online Tunisian Crochet course teaches you many types of styling cords and how to use them to style this versatile garment.

It’s easy to get stuck doing what we always do.

When we break out and learn something new, it makes us feel alive.

If you’ve always crocheted or knitted, consider this your call from the faeries of the Universe to try something new:
Tunisian Crochet. It’s easy to learn. It’s easy to create intricate looks. It’s addictive and fun.
