This pattern combines a love of the fall season with a love of colorwork. You’ll find a selection of four different motifs: a vertical decorative design suitable for variegated yarns, spiders, a jack-o-lantern with a fun all-over skull and crossbones design on the back, and a not-too-scary haunted village.

Choose from two pumpkin tops, creating either a round or an oblong pumpkin.

Enjoy making these colorful, cheerful, and full-of-fall pumpkins for your home or to give as gifts.

Yarn: About 200 yds 183 m each of two contrasting colors worsted weight yarn.
Scrap yarn (optional) in green or brown for tendrils. 10 yds should be more than enough to make 1 large tendril.

Other Materials: Stitch markers if desired, small tapestry needle, tape measure, 1 bag (16 oz.) polyester fiberfill (you will not need the entire bag), large button (optional). Button shown is from One of a Kind Buttons and measures about 1 3/8 in. about 4 cm.

Skills Needed: Working with two colors, working in the round, reading colorwork charts, trapping floats, kfb, kfbf, m1r and m1l increases, k2tog, p2tog and ssk decreases, i-cord.

While the pattern provides instruction on the increases, decreases, and i-cord, it assumes working knowledge of stranded knitting and reading colorwork charts.
