Inspired by fall forest foraging this shawl reminds me of drooping moss and little ferns growing out of rocks and dead fallen trees.

The fern blade motif repeats itself with every block iteration and the pattern guides you along every step of the way with both charted and fully written out instructions.

The small sized shawl is perfect for wrapping around the neck and uses only one skein of your favorite sock yarn. Meanwhile the large size is big enough to cover the shoulders and will require two skeins.

The simplicity of the pattern is striking and with a little guidance can be modified to any desired size.
