When some of us reach a certain age our upper arms are no longer as well developed as Michelle Obama’s, and we may notice that dropped shoulder sweaters are not at all enhancing to our upper arms.

We need a sweater that has detail somewhere other than right around the widest part of our arm.

May I present Laurie. A hybrid increase design somewhere between raglan and dolman make this sweater a captivating knit. The new technique is easily remembered when you place your stitch markers on either side of the front/back and sleeve panels.
After you have completed the sweater those panels may be highlighted with some duplicate stitch to add length to your stripes.

The stripes add to the adventure with a yoke that is undecided about the rhythm, or follow the chart right from the beginning. A big turtle neck adds to the cozy matching the hem and rib. Go pick out your favourite colours from Blue Sky Fibres beautiful Organic Cotton yarn. Yarn that knits like it is wool, yet ‘oh so soft’ against the early fall breezes.
