These double and triple layered flowers add the perfect finishing touch to many items such as hats, scarves etc. They can be made in any combination of colors and don’t require lots of yarn (20 yards is more than enough). You can use up all of those little balls of yarn in your stash to make these with.

Triple layered flowers measure approximately 3 inches across and double layered ones measure about 2 inches across when made with Worsted weight yarn. You can use any yarn weight you wish of course but flower sizes will vary. In general the bulkier the yarn used, the larger the flower.

The flowers are worked from the inside out. The petal layers are clusters of dc stitches and loops are worked into the back of each petal which act as a foundation for the next layer of larger petals.
