This shawlette was the inspiration of our friend Lisa and the request of my shop-owner friend Tina. She really wanted a crescent shaped shawlette with a leaf that was easy to knit and fairly quick. We chose the lovely Misti Alpaca Chunky which washed and blocked into a lightweight, warm, and lovely shawlette.

This shawl is lightly crescent shaped, knit from side to side across the width, increased using knit 1 front and backs, and decreased using knit 2 together. It is easy enough for a beginner and yet offers enough challenge and interest for more advanced knitters.

This pattern is meant for adventurous novice knitters to experienced knitters and all those in-between. Please read the entire pattern before beginning.

Yarn: 2 Skeins Misti Alpaca Chunky, 100% Baby Alpaca, 114 yards, Chartreuse (~218 yards total)

Needle: US 10 (6 mm) ChiaoGoo Circular needles or needles to obtain gauge

Gauge: 3.63 stitches per inch (spi) and 4 rows per inch (rpi) OR 14.5 stitches & 16 rows to 4 inches/10 cm in stockinette (unblocked)

Size: 56 inches around by 12 inches wide

To alter the size: Adjust your gauge to increase or decrease the circumference of the scarf as needed. Alter the width as desired.

Note: Due to the nature of the leaf pattern, the ends will not match perfectly.
