This cardi is knit from the top down and features a sweetheart neck and raglans shaped short sleeves. The bottom fronts are rounded and when worn, the cardi opens up slightly in the front.

I got the idea for this design from my desire to wear maxi cotton jersey sun dresses to work. However, because these dresses have no sleeves, I wanted a bolero type cardi to wear over these kind of dresses. It is shorter than a regular cardigan but a bit longer than a shrug. The length can easily be adjusted since the cardi is worked from the top down.

I chose this name because it is a play on words. In Creole, “li la” means - ”she is here”. In German “lila” means = ”purple”. And in English, “Lila” would be a girls’ name.
