This is a lovely set to knit.

Lilac is a full matinee coat with a lace design which incorporates the panels making the godets.

Lily is exactly the same pattern but with the design condensed into a peplum giving you the choice of making a full matinee jacket or a cardigan with a frill at the hem.

The designs are finished with matching bonnets, baggy pants with a frill at the ankles and little boots.

The design is quite versatile, I have knitted the matinee coat all in baby blue, with a simple pull on hat, and it looks great on a baby boy (shown in last picture, hat not on this pattern though).

The body of the jacket is made all in one piece to keep the pattern neat and avoid a bit of sewing up. It means you have quite a lot of stitches to cast on, but once the pattern is set it is quite simple.

Skill level is moderate, but if you are a novice the instructions are very clear, and it is a great set to work on to increase your skills a little.
