Little Riding hoodie is a tunic length hooded cardigan with cables, knit-in pockets, generous hood, ribbed back to cinch in at waist, lots of pretty cable decreases and knitted toggle buttons.
Sweater shown is 2 sport-weight strands knitted together (gauge 17 sts and 25 rows per 4” / 10 cm), which will also work nicely with a heavy worsted weight yarn.
Finished measurements: Chest sizes 34 (38, 42, 46, 49.5, 53.5)”. 2-4” positive ease recommended. Shown in size 38 with 2” ease.
Yarn: 6 (6, 7, 7, 8, 9) skeins each: Sunday Knits 3 ply (246 yds / 225 m per 50g skein): Brigadoon (100% merino tweed) and Angelic (75% merino 25% angora). Shown in Brigadoon birch and Angelic bone - 2 strands knitted together.
Substitute any heavy worsted weight yarn: 1400 (1500, 1760, 1750, 2000, 2250) yd.
Needles & Notions: Size 8 US / 6.0 mm and US 4 / 3.5 mm knitting needles, US 3 / 3.25 mm needles for toggle buttons; cable needle or double-pointed needle; tapestry needle; stitch markers, one 3⁄4” button (for neckline).
Skills needed: Cables, cable decreases, Kitchener stitch or grafting, short rows.
