This pattern was created using the Bond Ulitimate Sweater Machine. Scarf created lengthwise; pattern chart written with purl-side facing. Pattern consists of several turnings – garter bar, nylon cord, or waste yarn will be very handy for these portions. This neck section is worked in Garter Stitch (GS) – a garter bar or nylon cord will be needed to turn piece after each row. To increase or decrease scarf length, simply add or subtract Little Tent/Stockinette Pattern sets (20pattern +4contrast).

Special Technique/Stitch:
Ϋ Alternate crochet cast-on: This method creates a crocheted edge that needs no further finishing and lies flat. Place specified ndls into HP. With yarn, make a slip stitch and place it over the latch hook. Push the latch hook up between the 1st and 2nd ndls on the LHS; with the yarn above the ndls, grab yarn and pull through forming a new stitch. Push latch hook up between the 2nd and 3rd ndls, grab yarn and pull through forming another new stitch. Continue in this pattern across ndls until 1ndl remains. Slip stitch from latch hook onto ndl. Hand knit each ndl back across to the left.

Ϋ Little Tent Stitch: Knit 1st row; then reform sts on ndls designated per chart. Next, place ndls to be skipped in HP, knit 2nd row. Reform sts as designated and place ndls in HP back in WP. (This row may also be hand knit to eliminate dropped sts.) Knit 3rd row; reform sts as designated. Place yarn strand from skipped sts on 3rd ndl in previous group of 5 reformed sts (see chart). Knit 4th row and reform sts as designated.
