While expecting my son Llyr, I spent a lot of time by the sea. Sea gods, ocean creatures and mermaid mythology played on my mind as I envisioned the perfect baby blanket to welcome my water baby into the world. The result is the Llyr Baby Blanket. The easy to memorize stitch work invokes imagery of deep waters and sea serpents, while the seed-stitch border creates a classic and simple frame. The wrong side of the blanket creates a soft and smooth surface, perfect for being snuggled up against baby’s skin. Paired with baby-friendly luxurious fibre of your choice, this piece is sure to be a timeless keepsake, sure to be loved and cherished long after baby’s first moments.

Errata: The notes erroneously state that to make the blanket larger you increase your stitch count by 6. The correct answer is that you must increase your stitch count by increments of 12 in order to successfully repeat the stitch pattern and increase the width of the blanket.
