Evoking memories of those gluey candies that all children wanted to have.

The Lollipop Hat is worked in rounds from the bottom to the top in a fingering sock yarn. The stitch pattern creates a ruched effect and makes it a very stretchy hat to fit many heads. It is a lightweight hat for spring or fall.

The pattern is written and includes a small chart for the stitch pattern.

Also see the matching Lollipop Cowl in the same stitch pattern. Both patterns are available as an ebook for €4.50, The Lollipop Book.

Difficulty level: intermediate (knitting in the round on DPNs or circular needles, increases, decreases, double decreases)

Yarn: Regia 4-ply (75% wool, 25% nylon; 210m/50g; 230yds/1.76oz), 1-2 balls. Sample in size medium used exactly 1 ball with nearly nothing remaining. The large size will use more than 1 ball.
(Please note: the yarn entry in the Ravelry database got edited later on. The sample was made using the 50g balls).

Needles: 3mm/US 2 1/2 set of 5 DPNs or circular needles

Notions: yarn needle, stitch marker (optional)

Gauge: 27 stitches/40 rows in unstretched lollipop pattern = 10cm/4in.

Sizes: child (teen, adult medium, adult large), 45 (50, 55, 60)cm or 18 (20, 22, 24)in in circumference, 17 (21, 22, 25)cm or 6 1/4 (7 1/2, 8 3/4, 10)in in length. The stitch pattern is very stretchy.

=============================

Maschenprobe: 27 Maschen (9 Musterwiederholungen)/40 Reihen in ungedehntem Lollipop-Muster = 10cm.

Größen: Kind (Teenager, Erwachsene mittel, Erwachsene groß), 45 (50, 55, 60)cm Umfang, 17 (21, 22, 25)cm lang. Das Muster ist sehr dehnbar.
