Long Weekend is a seamless, boxy pullover with striped front and back panel and an unusual construction.
The pullover is made of two, almost identical sections that are worked sideways: We start the work with a provisional cast on at the right edge of the front center panel, then work continues from right to left in striped garter stitch pattern. At the left side of the front center panel stitches are cast on provisionally for the back and left side of the back and front is worked in stockinette stitch in one piece to the left „side seam” where the stitches of the body are grafted together. Left sleeve is worked in the round to the cuff on the remaining stitches.
Then the provisional stitches of the back center panel are picked up and work continues from left to right in striped garter stitch pattern. At the right side of the back center panel the provisional stitches of the front center panel are picked up and right side of the back and front is worked in stockinette stitch in one piece to the right „side seam” where the stitches of the body are grafted together. Right sleeve is worked in the round to the cuff on the remaining stitches.
