This asymmetric shawlette is worked from a cast on edge of 11 stitches. The ruffle edge is worked as you knit along the edge of the shawlette using simple kf&b increases + yarn overs and binding off. The ruffle also gets larger as the shawlette increases in length. Work to desired length or according to pattern. Bind off all stitches to create the smooth edge.

The pattern uses a 4-ply fingering wt yarn, between 700 and 750 yards. Any variegated, solid or self striping yarn is useable and will create unusual patterning. Changing the wt of yarn or needle size will change yardage requirements.
