’Not idly do the leaves of Lórien fall’

This soft and slouchy beret features a band of leaves below a lovely feather, fan and cable hat body for a fun knit with very stylish results.

Choose a soft and warm yarn with good draping qualities for best results, e.g. angora, cashmere, or baby alpaca, or wool blends containing any of these fibres. Merino/silk blends also work well for this design.

Intermediate plus knitters with experience of cables, lace and kitchener stitch should find this project relatively easy. All cable stitches, increases and decreases used in the design have a step-by-step technical description in the abbreviations list. The pattern includes full written instructions and charts for the project.

Many thanks to test knitters catlady, faeriesandpixies, telogirl2003, Daisey27, YarnluvinLizzy, ilovewool, maylene, Rufarocrafty, crochetsarah, sdtilepcs, and tabitha for working with me to prepare this pattern for publication!
