The pattern requires two skeins of red and one skein of cream Lamb;s Pride yarn. This pattern uses almost ALL of the red yarn. Be sure to take time to check gauge or buy a third skein. For you anti-gaugers (you know who you are) I am on the looser side of the knitting universe.

The worsted weight is held double throughout the pattern. You can substitute with a bulky yarn. I personally find that two strands of worsted weight held together actually felt better.

You must be able to read a color chart to compete this pattern. There are two choices for the collar -- the entire collar can be knit in red with white hearts, or there is an option for white background and red hearts for the inside of the collar. If you are really low on red yarn toward the ends, choose this option.

This is a fun pattern and a pretty quick knit. The pattern includes felting instructions.
