This pattern completes the Lucy doll pattern - some parts of the pattern only work with reference to the doll pattern.

Of course Lucy needs a suitable wardrobe for an outdoors loving child. Red wellington boots for squelching through mud, a cosy cardigan to keep the chills at bay, and a pretty dress just for fun!

Lucy’s dress is knit from the bottom up starting with an old shale inspired lace edging. Decreases are worked to the waist and then the knitting is split to form a front and two backs. At the end the neck, button and armbands are picked up and knit in garter stitch. Three buttons are sewn on to join the back.

The cardigan is knit from the top down with raglan increases, in all over moss stitch.

With the addition of a turn down cuff at the top, the rest of the boot is simply knit the same as Lucy’s lower legs and feet.
