Skill level: Intermediate or advanced if customizing the sweater size.

Finished size: This pattern has directions for two sizes, with options for a customized fit.1

  • Extra small - Neck: 15 to 20 cm, (6 to 8ins), Chest: 35.5 to 41 cm, (14 to 16 ins)
  • Small - Neck: 23 to 30 cm, (9 to 12 ins), Chest: 46 to 51 cm, (18 to 20 ins)

There is a work sheet provided to record your customized fit/size.

The pattern is written, and includes a chart for the maple leaf.

Yarn: You will need a yarn which will stand up to a playful little dog. I recommend Briggs and Little Yarn.

Colours: Your choice.

• MC 1.5 skeins
• CC ¼ skein

The yarn amounts shown are only if you are knitting either of the two sizes shown. More or less yarn will be required if you decide to customize the fit for a larger or smaller dog.

Notions:
• Stitch markers
• Tapestry needle
• Tape measure

Pets: At least one chilly dog.

The model in the photos is my little dog Robin.

  1. Example: The model is a Parson Russell Terrier (aka Jack Russell Terrier), she is within the breed standards size range. She weighs 5.5kg (12lb).
