Finding a hat pattern that is both cozy and flattering can be maddening. The March Hare hat was designed to look good and feel great over both short and long hairstyles. The sideways knit brim frames your face without squashing your hair too much; and the unique pleated crown decreases create flattering volume and visual interest at the back of the hat. Add a big ol’ pom pom in a contrasting colour for a bit of whimsy. For an extra dose of sweetness, pair this hat with the matching March Hare Mitts.

Yarn required: One 100g skein in each of two contrasting colours of DK weight yarn will make both the March Hare Hat and March Hare Mitts. Otherwise, 230 yards MC and 5-10 grams CC.

Difficulty: Ambitious Beginner to Intermediate. Requires 3 needle bind off, picking up stitches, and pleating. Photo tutorial included for pleats.
