This motif was inspired by a pattern in Mary Walker Phillips’ book “Knitting Counterpanes…“ but is very different than the original.
This pattern might appear complicated but it’s made with just yarn overs and decreases. The left/right symmetry also helps simplify the instructions.

This pattern will work with many needle sizes and threads/yarns as long as the fiber will block flat. Gauge and motif size will vary accordingly. #10 crochet thread and U.S. #1 needles will make a triangle about 4.5” long on the short sides.

1 ball of Aunt Lydia’s Classic size 10 crochet cotton will make many motifs.
