A luxuriously cabled cowl available as a shorter, single wrap and as a longer version to wrap around twice for extra warmth.

With the upcoming cold weather just around the corner the shorter, Martini, cowl is great to whip up over a few evenings. In comparison, the longer Merlot cowl makes a wonderful car trip / movie marathon project.

If you have never knit cables before, this project would be excellent practice. It is comprised of the two basic types of cables, left slanting and right slanting, and directions for working both are explained in detail. The pattern is also very repetitive and not nearly as complicated as it looks. Just be sure to tick off the row numbers as you go since keeping your place is key.

And in case you are wondering about the name…
Sometimes you want a quick sip of something refreshing in the evening, my go to being a martini. Sip, sip… knit, knit done.
Other nights you want to settle in with a large glass of deep, rich wine that warms you for the evening, and I love a good Merlot. I can take my time with it, savoring each little bit, much as I did with the long cowl.

I hope you have the chance to enjoy both.

Cheers!
