The booties are essentially a “Mary Jane” slipper with a sock incorporated into the pattern. They pull on like a sock in one piece. They take a small amount of yarn and knit up quickly. They are knitted on double pointed needles from the bottom up. Bootie portion uses yarn and needles that are a bit larger/heavier than sock portion of piece. Tapestry needle and optional buttons are only materials needed other than yarn and needles.
