Mayfair is part of the Neighborhood Knits: Shawls collection, four shawls inspired by Philadelphia neighborhoods.

Cables and lace columns edge the gentle crescent curve of Mayfair.

The edging is worked lengthwise first, and the garter stitch section is picked up and shaped with easy short rows.

The edging is both written and charted.

The finished size has a wingspan of 59” and a back length of 14”, perfect for wrapping around your neck and shoulders.

This is a good project for an intermediate knitter who’s familiar with or ready to tackle cables and easy lace.

You will need size US 6 (4.0mm) straight needles for the edging, and a size US 6 (4.0mm) 32” circular needle for the shawl body as well as a cable needle.
