In the middle of winter, I moved interstate at very short notice and with very few possessions. Unfortunately for me, I moved south – which in Australia, means moving further towards the cold. It was freezing. I only had a few balls of DK weight yarn and some big needles with me, and I needed something to keep me warm – fast.

Enter Melbourne Chill. Using only 1 ball of yarn and an easy to memorise stitch pattern, this shawl knit up in 2 days. The alpaca content makes it very warm, and excellent for keeping off unexpected chills. This shawl would also make an excellent last minute gift when you only have a small amount of yarn and a small amount of time.
