Merlyn is a shawlette that is worked sideways. It starts by casting on a few stitches and increases stitches in both the body of the shawl and at the border. The border of the shawlette is dynamic - it starts with 14 stiches and increases to 26 stitches at its widest point before decreasing back down to 14 stitches.

Finished dimensions: 51”/129.5 cm and 10.5”/26.7 cm at deepest point in edging
Note that exact measurements will vary slightly depending on gauge and how aggressively the shawl is blocked.

Instructions on how to make a longer shawlette are included in the pattern notes.
