Approximately 170 - 200 yds per colour are required.
These mittens are worked from the fingertips to the cuff. The thumb is worked first then joined later. Both the thumb and mitten body are knit in the round. For a consistent gauge do not create floats
over more than 3 or 4 sts at a time. I found that an “e-loop” cast on worked well in place of a regular M1 increase.
Women’s Mitten measurments:
9 cm (3 ½”) wide (18 cm (7”) around) by 20cm (8”) long (not including the cuff). With the cuff the mitten measures 24cm (9 ½”)

I have included a child sized mitten in the pattern. The child’s mitten will measure 7 ¼” (before the cuff is added) and will be slightly narrower than the adult version. This should fit a large child’s hand. If you would like to make it even smaller, I suggest you use 100% wool that will felt easily then felt it to size.
