Every year, I create a new stocking for the holidays. Stockings are my favorite holiday decoration for as long as I can remember. And, since I was a baby, I’ve always had a crocheted stocking. I still have my original one that was used every year from my first Christmas until about five years ago (It was over 30 years old…it earned it’s retirement). This year, I wanted to create something fun and less traditional. Mermaids are all the rage right now, so I decided to jump on the bandwagon!

The Mermaid Tail Stocking includes instructions for the stocking, the shells, the net, the starfish, and the ornament net for a 2.5” diameter ornament (notes given to make it bigger). It’s a fun pattern to work up, and it looks absolutely adorable when it’s finished! And, if you aren’t one to use the same stocking year after year, or you don’t use stockings in your home, it makes a great 18” doll accessory!
