The mild winter set is a quick knit, in worsted yarn, yet the fabric is not heavy. It’s perfect for when the snow is soft and the wind carries the scent of trees waking up and the promise that spring is just around the corner.

You can knit it with either of the two colorwork motifs, sushi (shown in adult size), or zigzag (shown in child size).

Sizes:
The Hat is sized from preemie up to large adult. The mitts are in adult sizes only.

Yardage:
The hat requires 40-120 yards of MC, 10-30 yards of CC1 and 5-10 yards of CC2, depending on size.

The mitts require 85-90 yards of MC, 25-30 yards of CC1, and 8-9 yards of CC2.

Samples were knit in Cascade 220 in colorways: Christmas red, Navy, and Natural.

Errata: (This has been fixed in 2016Feb22 version of the file)
For the mitts, in the thumb gusset section, there should be a P1 right before the “K1, SM” on every round (not the round where you PM).

After knitting the colorwork chart for the second time, The instructions should say: K 1 round. * K3, P1 * for 4 rounds.
