These tiny roses are quick and easy to make! The tutorial is suitable for beginners and all you need to know are the basics of knitting - how to cast on, fasten off, sew pieces together, weave in loose ends and how to do the stitches listed below.

The roses take only small amounts of yarn and are worked flat on 2 double-pointed needles, using the I-cord knitting technique for the stems. I-cord knitting is very simple and the tutorial shows you how to do it, step by step. The stitches used are knit, purl and knit/purl 2 together.

NOTE
My pattern for Paulo the Charming Tiger (shown with his roses in the 2nd photo) includes instructions for how to make these roses, so if you have Paulo’s pattern, you shouldn’t need this one. This separate tutorial gives more detailed instructions for the roses, including more pictures, so it’s better suited for beginners.
