The body of the sweater is knit sideways. A construction schematic is given on page 65 to illustrate construction. Stitches are then picked up to work the yoke from the bottom up, with sleeves joined at the underarm. The vertical shoulder welts are created with applied I-cord. The attached yoke creates a. drop shoulder silhouette

This was inspired by my mother’s mission style dining room chairs. Welting gave me nice a way to recreate their subtle curve and use of negative space. Also, the curve to the shoulder accentuates the male form.
