Misty Point is a rectangular poncho knit in stockinette stitch. The poncho is knit in one piece from the bottom-front upward and over the shoulders with a simple bound off/cast on neck opening. The back is knit seven inches longer than the front.

Finished Measurements: (one size) 36” wide x 27” long at back (front is about 7” shorter)

Materials: Lang Passione (82% alpaca, 16% nylon, 2% elastic; 145 yds/25g) - 10 balls color 976-0025

Needles: US #9 & #10 circular at least 24” long.

Gauge: 4.5 sts/in and 6 rows/in on #9 in stockinette stitch after wet blocking.

Sept 2017:
After living with Misty Point for a month I decided that it was too long in back for my short frame (5’4”) and that the neck opening was too wide.
I made the following adjustments to my Misty Point:

1. Ripped back one skeins’ worth (about 4.5”) from bottom of the back and re-bound off.
2. Using yarn recovered from the back length I applied a single crochet around the neck edge to bring it “in” a bit to stay on my shoulders.

If you want to make these changes to your knit I’d suggest:

1. 9 balls rather than 10.
2. For neck opening, bind off 36ish stitches rather than the 50ish in the pattern. Be sure to center than bind off over your number of stitches on the needle.
