My ideal vacation would be to spend a few nights in a cabin under the moon, spending my evenings roasting marshmallows in the fire pit and waking up to a chilly mist. The Moon Cabin Sweater is my go-to practical sweater to keep me warm during this trip. The double ribbed collar, higher than a crew neck but lower than a turtle neck for optimal comfort and warmth, the two-color yoke worked in stranded colorwork and the long sleeves are the secret formula of this warm sweater. It is worked from the top down, starting with the ribbed collar, followed by an optional short-row section to elevate the back. The yoke is worked next. When it’s completed, the sleeve stitches are placed on hold and the body is worked without shaping. The sleeves are worked afterwards. The colorwork, reminding me of moons, leaves and flowers, is repeated at the bottom of the body and sleeves. Available in 10 sizes, this sweater worked in DK weight yarn is sure to please everyone.

Yardage can vary according to the length you want to knit. The indicated yardage is for a sweater hitting at the hips. Plan for more yardage if you want to make a longer sweater.

Gauge
22 sts x 28 rows = 4” (10 cm) in stockinette stitch and colorwork pattern, after blocking

Adjust needle size to get the correct gauge. You might need bigger needles for the colorwork section. Make sure to make a gauge swatch in both stockinette and colorwork to find out which needle size will give you a consistent gauge.

Prototype is a size 2 worn with approx. 4” (13 cm) inches of ease.

Mes vacances idéales seraient de passer quelques nuits dans un chalet sous la lune, de griller des guimauves sur un feu de bois et, au réveil, de mettre mes pieds dans la rosée fraîche. Le chandail Chalet sous la lune est le vêtement idéal pour me garder bien au chaud durant cette escapade. Son col côtelé double, plus chaud qu’un col rond mais plus comfortable qu’un col roulé, son empiècement de deux couleurs tricoté en jacquard, et ses manches longues sont au coeur de la formule magique de ce chandail bien chaud. Il est tricoté de haut en bas, en commençant par le col, suivi d’une section optionnelle de rangs raccourcis pour élever le dos. L’empiècement est ensuite tricoté. Lorsqu’il est complété, les mailles des manches sont placées en attente et le corps est tricoté droit. Les manches sont tricotées par la suite. Le jacquard aux motifs de lunes, feuilles et fleurs, est répété au bas du corps et des manches. Disponible en 10 tailles, ce chandail classique, tricoté en laine grosseur Léger (DK / 3), saura vous plaire et vous réchauffer!
