The Moonstruck Pullover is an ultra-cozy sweater that uses self-striping sport weight yarn held double stranded to create a stunning ombré effect. Working the yarn this way gives the knitter endless surprises as the colors change. It’s the quintessential pullover for apple picking and chilly nights by the fire.

Construction Details
The sweater is worked seamlessly in one piece from the top down. Stitches are cast on for the lower neckline and neck and raglan shaping is worked. After working the yoke, sleeve stitches are placed on holders and the body is completed. Sleeves are picked up and worked in the round on DPN. Finally, you will knit the cowl neck.

Yarn: 1380 (1610, 1840, 2070, 2300) total yards of sport weight yarn (CYCA #2) yarn. This yardage amount allows for the yarn to be held double. To work this design using a single strand of chunky weight yarn (CYCA #5), 690 (805, 920, 1035, 1150) yards would be needed. Sample made with Stonehenge Fiber Mills Crazy (100% wool, 230 yds/75 g) 7 (8, 8, 10, 11) skeins.

US 10 (6 mm) 32” and 16” circular needle, US 10 (6 mm) DPN’s for cuffs, bottom rib, and neck. Adjust needle size as necessary to obtain correct gauge.
