PATTERN NOTES
One of our favorite things about knitting is the power it gives us to create something unique – something not easily found in stores, and something that is sure to catch the eye of others. Morning Tracks is a sweater/cowl combo that embodies that very notion. Worked in anti-pilling Uptown DK, this asymmetrical sweater has everything – it’s easy to care for, features exciting construction, perfectly tailored sleeves, cables, lace, a split hem, and soothing stockinette stitch. Each element works together in harmony. Need we say more?

The sweater is worked modularly with no seams, except for grafting the sides of the cabled cuff together. Front and Back Hems are knit sideways and are shaped with short-rows. Stitches are picked up along one side of Hem for Body. After lower Front and Back Body pieces are shaped with short-rows, the sweater is joined and worked in the round to the underarms. Stitches are picked up from around armholes, sleeve caps are shaped with short-rows, and sleeves are knit downward in the round.

The accompanying cowl is knit separately using stitch patterns to match the hem.

Hem stitch pattern is in chart form only.
