The Nebula Medallion Vest is a free pattern, designed for handspun at any gauge. This is a great way to showcase a super-bulky art yarn, either in the center back or in the shawl collar.

The suggested yarns above are possible commercial substitutions, and the yarn quantities are for superbulky. However, this pattern will work for any gauge. Included are instructions for knitting the vest to any gauge or size, and estimates for yarn quantity for as small a gauge as worsted weight.

This pattern is being offered for free because (a) this is my first time designing for handspun, (b) this pattern has not been test-knit. If you are interested in test knitting, please contact me for details. It’s a very simple concept. Feedback is especially desired for yarn quantity.

Some other tidbits included in this pattern:

  • Notes for spinning the yarn shown
  • Percentage estimates for knitting the body and shawl collar in different yarns
  • Sized for 30”/75 cm - 54”/135 cm bust (with 2” positive ease, as shown)

Happy spinning and knitting!
