Nestling is an easy, textured baby blanket that is worked flat with a mitered garter stitch border that is picked up and worked in the round in a contrasting color.

This is a good project for the Advanced Beginner: besides knitting and purling, techniques include working ssk and yo, purling in the back of a stitch, and picking up stitches on the edge.

You will need a 40” circular needle to accommodate the larger number of edging stitches as well as stitch markers for marking the corners on the edging.

The blanket takes approximately 488 yards of worsted weight yarn in the Main Color, and approximately 244 yards of worsted weight in the Contrast Color. The sample shown is worked in the original Peaches & Creme by Pisgah Yarn & Dyeing in color 56 Celery and color 96 Brick Red.

The instructions include both written and charted instructions for the textured center.
