NGC 2264 is a star-forming nebula that includes formations such as the Christmas Tree Cluster and the Cone Nebula and is found in the constellation of the Unicorn, Monoceros. So I’ve made strips of pine trees and the central band mock cable of the sock represents the unicorn’s horn or the spiral stripe of cones. At the top of the sock, beads are used to show the aqua tints of color in this dusky nebula and decorate the Christmas trees.
